US getting tough on direct placements
Direct placements, a useful way for offshore insurers to write US risks, have recently attracted some unwanted regulatory attention, reports Thomas M Dawson, a partner in the New York office of LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae LLP (LLGM) and Andrea Toth, an associate based in the firm’s London office, both members of LLGM’s insurance practice group.
