Hartford to pay Connecticut fine
US P/C and life insurer Hartford Financial Services is to pay $1.3m to settle charges by Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal that the group’s former Hart Re reinsurance unit had engaged in anti-competitive business practices in connection with three reinsurance facilities for regional p/c insurers from 1990 to 2001.
