Swine flu puts focus on cat bonds
The outbreak of deadly swine flu in Mexico and its rapid spread to other countries raises the possibility that subsequent losses may trigger some of the mortality cat bond arrangements that reinsurers have entered into to protect themselves against precisely this type of event.
