US agency signed secret deal with US assurer, report claims
THE US Department of Veterans Affairs struck a secret deal with Prudential Financial in 1999 that allowed the US life assurer to withhold lump-sum payment of life assurance benefits to survivors of fallen military personnel, Bloomberg has reported, citing VA records obtained under a Freedom of Information request.
