Natural disasters hit Hannover Re numbers, profit target maintained
German reinsurer Hannover Re has reported a net income of €157.2m for the first quarter of 2010, down from €228.6m in the same period last year, after large losses, mainly from the Chilean earthquake (€185.1m) and European windstorm Xynthia (€39.7m), came to €264.4m, “significantly above budget”.
