Australian insurers look to increase flood cover but reject mandatory plan
AUSTRALIA’S INSURANCE COUNCIL (ICA) has pledged that 84% of home insurance policies sold in the country will have flood protection within 18 months, despite its decision to reject introducing mandatory insurance coverage for flood damage in the wake of this year’s devastating activity in Queensland and Victoria.
