Two more insurers stop Canterbury quake cover
THE official position of the New Zealand government prime minister John Key, earthquake minister Gerry Brownlee and the New Zealand Insurance Council – that South Island residents who are finding it difficult to get buildings insurance should wait for a temporary bottleneck in the insurance process to ease – was looking increasingly frayed today after two insurers announced that they would stop offering earthquake cover to either all or part of New Zealand.
