Transatlantic uses poison pill defence vs Validus
THE board of New York-based reinsurer Transatlantic Holdings has unanimously voted to recommend that shareholders reject Validus Holdings’ $3.5bn cash-and-stock takeover offer and adopted a poison pill shareholder rights plan to fend off the Bermudian re/insurer’s unsolicited proposal.
