Benefits of moving ahead with Solvency II outweigh costs and risks
Deputy governor of the Central Bank of Ireland, Matthew Elderfield, acknowledged insurer frustration with the ongoing delays surrounding the implementation of Solvency II across Europe but said the benefits of moving ahead with the directive outweighed the costs and risks of retaining the existing EU framework.
