AIG takes advice on unit sell-offs
The New York branch of the Federal Reserve has named investment bank Morgan Stanley as the principal financial adviser for any divestitures or initial public offerings that are carried out for units of AIG, as the troubled insurer struggles to divest itself of operating units to pay back the more than $50bn in loans that remain under the federal bailout that commenced last September.
