Reinsurers dodge US tax bullet
THE OBAMA administration on Monday outlined plans to raise annual federal tax revenues by $210bn by closing loopholes that US firms take advantage of in offshore tax havens, but the proposals do not include provisions to crack down on foreign insurers that reinsure their US businesses overseas.
