FASB eases some accounting rules
The global credit crisis may have taken a turn in the US in recent weeks when the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) adopted new rules governing the accounting for the value of mortgage securities, which would give banks and other financial firms more discretion in the valuing of certain assets.
