Calling out contracts of insurance
In an unanimous judgment delivered on February 13, 2013 by Lord Sumption, the UK’s Supreme Court has ruled the selling of contracts of insurance providing benefits in kind are “regulated activities” that must only be carried out by persons who are authorised by the FSA or exempt from authorisation.
