Hurricane Sandy: Ocean carriers declare force majeure
US: In the aftermath of hurricane Sandy many ocean carriers that diverted containerships from the storm-ravaged New York and New Jersey terminals to discharge cargo at other east coast ports have declared force majeure, abrogating their responsibility to reroute boxes back to the bill of lading destination port, reports Lloyd’s List.
