Great West LifeCo to appeal C$456m ruling
WINNIPEG-based Great-West Life is to appeal against a C$456m (US$445m) ruling by Justice Johanne Morissette in a London, Ontario Court that Great-West breached certain sections of the Insurance Companies Act when in 1997 it used C$220m of policyholders’ money to help pay for the purchase of Canadian assurer London Life.
