Goldman could have suffered from AIG failure
THE long-running defence from investment bank Goldman Sachs that it had to receive 100% compensation on its credit default swaps with AIG because its exposure was hedged with other financial institutions, and that it did not therefore stand to suffer losses should AIG have failed, looked less convincing at the weekend after the release of certain documents showing that some of Goldman’s counterparties were financially at risk.
