Gen Re to pay $92.2m over sham reinsurance deals
GENERAL RE Corp, a unit of US insurance and investment holding Berkshire Hathaway, has agreed to pay $92.2m and submit to several corporate-governance changes to settle federal charges and shareholder complaints over suspect reinsurance deals that allegedly enabled AIG and US Prudential to manipulate financial statements.
