NY Fed’s Dudley defends AIG rescue
THE US government opted not to allow troubled insurer AIG to slip into bankruptcy and thereby made good on the New York-based company’s obligations to “all the counterparties of the firm”, William Dudley, current president of the New York branch of the Federal Reserve, has told the Public Broadcasting Service.
